BISP Sahulat Account Rolled Out with SBP Support – Check Bank Details & Activation

SBP BISP Sahulat Account
BISP Sahulat Account has been launched with the support of SBP, which aims to provide easy, secure and direct financial assistance to the beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Program. These accounts have been initially introduced in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Muzaffargarh, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit, where the beneficiaries are being given bank accounts after verification based on their CNIC.
Under this system, the beneficiaries will be informed through SMS or web portal about which bank their account is opened in, which branch and when to go. Biometric Verification will have to be done by visiting the bank branch with the CNIC, and if the fingerprints do not work, verification will be done through NADRA Verisys. On completion of verification, either a cheque book will be given or a PayPak Debit Card will be issued, from which money can be withdrawn from any bank’s ATM without any additional charge.

The financial assistance will be transferred directly to the account through RAAST or IBFT, and the beneficiaries will be informed when and how to receive the money. These accounts will not have mobile or internet banking facilities to maintain security. SBP and BISP have provided full support to make this process transparent, fast and people-friendly, which will directly benefit lakhs of people.

- Branch address
- Scheduled date to visit for activation
👉 To check yourself, just send your CNIC number to the official shortcode or enter it on the 8171 web portal.
Step-by-Step: How Your BISP Sahulat Account Is Created & Activated
- BISP securely shares your verified information (CNIC number, full name, date of birth, and residential address) with partner banks.
- The bank screens your details against UNSC-designated lists and Anti-Terrorism Act watchlists to ensure compliance and security.
- Once cleared, the bank opens your Sahulat Account and generates an IBAN (International Bank Account Number) for you.
- You will receive an SMS alert or be notified via the BISP web portal, informing you of the bank name, branch location, and scheduled visit date.
- Visit the assigned bank branch with your original CNIC. The bank staff will perform your Biometric Verification (BV).
- If your biometric verification is successful, you’ll be issued a chequebook with at least 5 leaves. If BV fails due to fingerprint issues, your identity will be verified through NADRA Verisys, and you will be issued a PayPak Debit Card instead.
- For PayPak card users, the bank will guide you through PIN generation via ATM, SMS, call center, or web portal — usually during a second visit after two weeks.
What to Bring When You Visit the Bank
Before you go, make sure you have:
- Original CNIC
- If possible, your SMS notification
At the bank:
- You’ll go through Biometric Verification (BV)
- If BV fails (due to worn fingerprints), the bank will use NADRA Verisys to verify your identity
What Details the Bank Will Ask You For
Banks will collect the following:
- CNIC issuance and expiry date
- Father’s/spouse name
- Mother’s maiden name
- Place of birth
- Mobile number (if available)
You’ll also be asked for verbal consent, which the bank staff will record:
- To comply with FATCA/CRS (international tax rules)
- To confirm you understand the account terms
- To allow use of your data for compliance
How Will You Get Your BISP Payments?
Once your BISP Sahulat account is active, BISP will send your aid money through:
- RAAST (Pakistan’s instant payment gateway)
- IBFT (Interbank Funds Transfer)
You’ll be notified when your funds arrive. Then you can:
- Withdraw using cheque at the branch
- Or use your PayPak card at any ATM without off-us charges
For safety, internet and mobile banking are not enabled on these accounts.
